ROOST is a hobby game for finding and photographing birds with friends. This page says plainly what it keeps.

Account

Your name and email address, and a password hash — or, if you sign in with Google, your Google account id, verified email, name and profile picture. Google sign-in requests only the openid, email and profile scopes; ROOST never reads your mail, contacts, calendar or files.

Finds

The photos you upload, the species you tag, and the date and GPS position read from the photo's own metadata (used to verify the find and shown on it). Photos are resized and stored on ROOST's server. They are visible to anyone with a link to your league.

Sightings data

Regional bird-observation counts from Cornell Lab's eBird are used to rate rarity. They are aggregate counts and are not about you.

Cookies

A session cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising, no analytics trackers.

Sharing

Nothing is sold or shared with third parties. League-mates see your finds; the public can see a league page if they have its link.

Deleting

You can remove any find yourself. To delete your account and everything in it, email karson@withawesome.co.
